Gurbeen Bhasin

Has her educational and professional background in Social Policy and International Relations. She has been practicing Social Work for over two decades. During that time she has focused on the areas child welfare and mental health. Her main goal has been teaching and learning communication techniques that work effectively and efficiently. Her belief is that healthy communication is the foundation for a healthy and fulfilling life.

On a creative level, Gurbeen has been writing as long as she could hold a pen and has over the last couple of years used film to further her artistic expression and capture that of others. She has lived in Iran, India, Canada and the United States and has traveled extensively and this helps her to tell the untold story in unique ways.

Gurbeen has taught communications and other courses to help others learn to live the lives they love and do so powerfully! Toronto is her home, where her heart has grown roots and soul attachments. Her love for Rumi and the spirit that connects us all inspires her to stand of truth and justice in art, in life, in all.

Erin Bentley

Erin's professional and educational background is as a sociologist, researcher, and teacher. While working on a PhD, Erin also runs a successful healing practice from home. Erin has a wealth of experience in working with learners from diverse backgrounds: "To me, teaching is a beautiful opportunity to explore the connections between people who (previously) thought they were separate, isolated, or alone. From this perspective, I see teaching Reiki and Core Beliefs workshops as the perfect means to bring together the pivotal aspects of my inner purpose: healer and teacher".

When asked to describe Erin's teaching style, former Reiki student wrote to Erin, "You have a beautiful energy about you and your insight into situations, feelings and people's words is pure wisdom and love--a lot of love. You seem to hear what people say and your responses are filled with peace".

Working within the generous teaching traditions of mentors like Aangen's Dora Miceli, Erin teaches a synthesis of shamanic healing modalities and the ancient practice of Reiki. In this way, the Reiki classroom invites students to connect to the healing energy of the divine. In so doing, the student becomes another beautiful pathway for that energy to enter the lives of others through healing interactions.

Lou Carcasole – B.Sc., MBA, M. Ed.

For a long time I wondered why change was so difficult – both the unwanted changes that challenge us, as well as those changes we hope to bring about to improve ourselves. I was fascinated by courses in behavior and psychology while studying for my MBA. Later, I enrolled in a Masters of Education program out of a desire to try to better understand change. What I found was that almost all of the change strategies commonly practiced are pretty ineffectual. I chanced upon Mindfulness in 1987 and was fascinated by it. Over time, I saw how powerfully it changed my life for the better, as well as the lives of others who practiced it. In 1996, I felt the desire to share my knowledge and experience with others. Since then, I’ve helped thousands learn this powerful technology, often with extremely positive, life altering results. I’ve been told by many, that I have a gift – that I’m able to present Mindfulness in simple, clear ways that virtually everyone finds understandable, practical and very useful.
