Our Team

Aangen. Changing Lives and Helping Communities Locally and Globally.

Gurbeen Bhasin, MA, MSW

Executive Director

Gurbeen as her educational and professional background in Social Policy and International Relations and has been practicing Social Work for over two decades. During that time, she has focused on the areas child welfare, mental health, and policy creation and implementation as well as evaluation.

She has been one of the founding forces behind Aangen and especially in creating the blueprint for a self-sustained non-profit model. Over the last 16 years of running Aangen as a successful social enterprise, she has learnt a great deal and now helps other non-profit organizations create similar models.

Heather Maciel

Program Coordinator

Fear is often the factor that presides over our life and thus our choices are often guided in such darkness. Heather was at a cross-road. Her uncertainty led her to dig deep and figure out why she still felt a lack, when her external life seemed so full.

This internal search started at Aangen where Heather took part in a vision boarding workshop. There she was exposed to a glimpse of her true self and felt like she had been awakened after a long slumber. Heather has studied Freelance Writing and is currently enrolled in a Social Entrepreneurship Program. She is passionate about writing and how words can move and inspire people. Heather’s mission is to evoke positive change through spreading love and light wherever she goes. Today Heather is living her purpose; she is the Program Coordinator at Aangen where she is free to create, to serve and to love.

Dora Miceli

Advisory Board Member

Dora is a mother of two, a healer, a teacher to many and a successful business woman. She has been practicing healing modalities for over 30 years. She started as an esthetician and came into her spiritual and healing journey through an inspirational vision. She practices Intuitive Massage, Reflexology, Reiki, Aroma Therapy, Crystal Healing, Gem Stone Therapy, and many other modalities. Her passion lies in Native American healing modalities taught to her by a Mohawk Elder. Dora’s humility would not let her verbalize that she is a Shaman in her own right.

Most recently she has universally inspired by the love of mother earth and humanity and is driven to seek ancient wisdom and growth for everyone. She offers her teachings to all at affordable rates as she believes that in every home there is healer and together through practicing spiritual teachings we uplift and support each other on our journeys.
