Alicia Gunning is a Creative Director working with many teams to develop creative strategies, marketing, communication and digital advertising.
It started at a young age, as Alicia became aware of the issues in the world she wanted to fix them. Alicia chose to get a degree in advertising at OCADU because she saw advertising’s potential to influence the masses and create positive change.
While at OCADU her friends complained there was no student paper - nowhere to honestly voice student opinions. So, she gathered an awesome team of volunteers and made one. ‘Slimy Motives’ ran for 3 years before being picked by the student union. While writing her thesis, she realized changing the advertising industry was too big a battle. So, when a vacation in Yellowknife turned into a job offer in an ad agency that fit her ideals she jumped at it.
She worked with the GNWT and small businesses promoting literacy, labour skills and cultural events. In late 2011 the agency director announced he wanted to expand and build a firm in Whitehorse, so Alicia and two team members flew to Whitehorse to build an ad agency.
Creating the agency in Whitehorse solidified her desire to be part of a core team and build something. In 2014 she moved back to Ontario and enrolled in business school. Since then she’s been a working in marketing and with social enterprises focused on food security.

Fear is often the factor that presides over our life and thus our choices are often guided in such darkness. Heather was at a cross-road. Her uncertainty led her to dig deep and figure out why she still felt a lack, when her external life seemed so full. This internal search started at Aangen where Heather took part in a vision boarding workshop. There she was exposed to a glimpse of her true self and felt like she had been awakened after a long slumber. Heather has studied Freelance Writing and is currently enrolled in a Social Entrepreneurship Program. She is passionate about writing and how words can move and inspire people. Heather’s mission is to evoke positive change through spreading love and light wherever she goes. Today Heather is living her purpose.
